And the primary reason cited for passing on the 34-year-old, future Hall-of-Famer was that he and Brandon Marshall could not co-exist because both want the ball thrown to them on every play.
Of course, nobody botherred to ask Marshall what he thought until he made his weekly appearance on The Michael Irvin Show on WQAM. It was there that Marshall revealed just how close he and Moss are and how much he admires Moss. So before Irvin's co-host could even finish the question, here's what Marshall blurted out.
"Let's go. Let's get him, let's get him, let's go get him.," said Marshall, who leads Miami with 47 receptions for 588 yards and one touchdown. "I don't know what we'll do, but I welcome him with open arms."
Moss was officially waived on Tuesday and the clock immediately started to tick for the 17 teams ahead of Miami on the waiver claim list. The order is based on current record so Miami at 4-3 is 18th on the list. A lot would have to fall just right for the Dolphins to even be in position to make a claim for Moss, but Marshall didn't hold back when he pointed out how much Moss could help the team.
